New House Pics

The builder dug the hole and poured some of the foundation yesterday and today. I went out last week and picked out the colors for the stucco, shingles, stone, carpet, cabinets, counters and wall colors. It was fun being able to pick everything I wanted.

Let's Build

Yesterday was our 6th anniversary. We decided to have fun by going out to talk to a builder about building a new home. Once we got out there (in Grantsville) we fell in love with the Dayton floor plan in Anderson Ranch. We even got to go into a nearby home that was the same floor plan to have a look around. So we decided to put money down to hold the lot until we close on our house. Then we can start to build. The funny thing is we got married on 4/11, we signed papers for the new house on 4/11 and our new address will be 411 S. It must be a pretty big sign for all the numbers to be the same. I can't wait for the house to be built and for us to move in.

SOLD

We sold our home! :) We will close on the house around April 27th. It went by fast. I am so glad we didn't have to struggle selling our house for more than a year like most people. It only took us 3 months to sell. It is sad to say goodbye to our first home, however I am excited to move on. So goodbye neighbors and goodbye West Valley!!!

For Valentines Day I made these yummy cake pops for the girls at my work. They turned out perfect for my first time making them. Nobody at work wanted to eat them. They said they looked too pretty to eat. But I made them eat them and they loved them. I made red velvet with cream cheese frosting and also golden vanilla with buttercream frosting. :)

House for Sale

We finally did it, we put our house up for sale. We have been thinking about upgrading for a while. So it's finally on the market. We are hoping to move out to Grantsville to get away from the city. Have a bigger yard for our dogs and for me to finally have the house I have always wanted.

It's seems like this year is going by so fast, I just can't believe it. It has been 3 months since both of my grandma's passed away. It seems like it was just yesterday. I miss them dearly. I know my grandpa has had a hard time without her. I haven't taken the time to sit down and update this darn thing. I have taken some pictures from some of our camp trips. Hopefully I will get them up soon. We have been working hard to save money to do in vitro. We held our first yard sale and it was a huge success. I couldn't believe how much money you can make at a yard sale. I do have to admit though, it is a lot of work to get all your stuff together. I am so greatful for my in-laws for helping out. Karen, Erin and Megan were the best little worker bee's. Jake ran the snow cone machine. I think he had fun with that. I also need to thank all of our wonderful friends for donating some of their unwanted items for our sale. We are so luck to have the best family and friends in the world.

This past week we were looking at how much we were still short for our baby fund when we received some great news. My work was looking into hiring someone to make some vinyl stickers for advertising. I gave them a quote back in January and never really heard back from them until Monday that is. They finally decided to place an order with me. It just so happened to be for the amount we were missing from the fund. I was so excited. :) Although I have been working really hard this week to get all of the stickers done. With all this being said, I think we will finally get to start the process in October. So if all goes well (cross your fingers people) we might have a nice christmas (news) present to share with everyone. :)

We also bought our dogs some new dog crates so that they can sleep in the house. They haven't really liked sleeping in the house at night. I thought it was going to be hard to train them to go to sleep, but after the first 5 mins of them being in there they were out. LOL They sleep through the night without accidents and then they wake up around 5:30. They have turned into my alarm. I seem to hear them right before my normal alarm goes off. I also learned that Diesel is allergic to Tuna Fish. I was making my lunch and just the smell of it made his face swell up and he couldn't stop sneezing. I felt so bad. I had to put him outside to get fresh air. He ended up being ok. Bogey always seems to get his water bucket and plays with it. He loves buckets. He could play for hours with one. It's really funny to watch.

Ok I am just rambling now. I will write more once I have pictures to go with it. Until then!!!

These past two weeks have been hard. I lost both of my grandmas within a week of each other. They were both such amazing ladies. They will be deeply missed by all that knew them. I love them both very much. Until we meet again!!!

Helen Adams Secrist

1932-2010

Beloved wife, mother, grand-mother, auntie and friend, Helen Adams Secrist returned home May 12, 2010 following a brief illness. Helen was born March 6, 1932 in Cleveland, Idaho to Bishop J. Vernon and Seleta Allen Adams. Vivasious and fun loving by nature she brought joy to all. She married Ted B. Secrist in the Logan Temple March 17, 1952. Together they raised two children, Scott and Debbie Secrist. Helen trained as a nurse and worked as the manager of Primary Children's Cranial Facial Department for 28 yeards. She was active in the LDS church and with Ted served a mission to Kirkland, Ohio 1996-1997. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Paul, LuWana, Grant, Virigina, and Alice Adams. She is survived by her spouse, children and grandchildren, Ashley (Jacob) Nielsen and Austin Lewis, and her sister Joan Adams Thompson (Glen). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Orchard 3rd Ward, 261 East Center Street, North Salt Lake. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Saturday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Lakeview Cemetery.

Ruth Bennett Robinson, age 96, our cherished mother, grandmother and friend, passed peacefully from this life Tuesday, May 04, 2010 surrounded by her family. She returned to the loving arms and the embrace of her Heavenly Father, and those who were awaiting her return. She was born on Nov. 01, 1913 in Deseret, Utah to James H. and Pearl Jacobsen Bennett. She married Grant C. Robinson on May 8, 1933 later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Ruth worked at ZCMI for 35 yeards and made many long lasting friends. Always an active member of the LDS Church, and loved to attend the temple. She served a mission in the Charleston West Virginia Mission in 1983. Ruth had many talents. She made beautiful quilts and afghans for all of her family and many friends. She is an elegant lady and will be missed by all who knew her. Ruth is survived by three sons and one daughter, G. Raymond (Dorthey); Ramona (Ray) Newbold; David G (Julie); and Dean B.; 14 grandchildern, 32 great-grand-childern, four great-great-grand-children and sister-in-law Leroa Bennett. Preceded in death by her husband Grant and daughter Dawnell, two great-grandsons, her parents and brothers LeRay and Eldon Bennett. Funeral services will be held Sat. May 8, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Parley's 6th Ward, 2350 South 2100 East, where friends may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.

Bad Blogger

I know that I have been a bad blogger for quite a while. I really haven't had a lot to blog about. Let's see if I can catch up from my last post in October. Sorry if this is long. LOL!!!

The holidays came and went so fast this year. Thanksgiving is always my favorite. I love all of the food and also getting together with my many families. This year was our year to go to Jake's parents. I was nice and relaxing. After dinner we went and saw The Blind Side. It was a lot of fun. We go to a movie ever Thanksgiving with his family.

Christmas was pretty small this year. Jake got me a guitar. I still need to learn how to play. I was really excited because he surprised me. :) I got Jake his helicopter that he has been asking for the past 4 years. I know I should have gotten it sooner but I always found something better. He loves it though. He plays with it all the time. I also got him a dirt bike stand. He used it for the first time today. He is getting ready to go to the Dunes. The first trip of the year. :)

New Years we went to a Grizzles hockey game. We hadn't been to one in a long time. It was ok. They lost in overtime. Then we went over to our friends house for a few minutes. Then we came home because our neighbors were going to light fireworks and our dogs hate fireworks. We got them feed and put to bed before the New Year rang in. We were actually like old folks and in bed before midnight.

Over the past few months we have also gotten aggressive in our treatment for infertility. We have been trying to conceive for over two years with no luck. We finally decided to go to a reproductive endocrinologist. Our doctor ran tests to see what our problem is. He came back and said everything looked ok. (unexplained infertility) We then decided to try Inter-Uterine Insemination. (IUI) This method of treatment would give us about a 13% chance of conceiving. We did this procedure 4 times. They all ended the same. NEGATIVE. Now we are taking a break for a while to save money to put towards In-vitro fertilization. We plan on doing this in the fall sometime. I sure hope it works. :) It is rather costly. If this doesn't work, then we will start to think about adopting. I think that Jake and I will make great parents and we will one day fulfill our quest to be parents. Until then, we will be uncle Jake and aunt Ashley to our friends little girl Mcky. :)

Well I think that catches us up for the past few months. I will try to take more pictures and post more often. Tomorrow is Valentines Day so I should get some good pictures of Jake and I. Until then, take care!!!

Last weekend Jake and I went camping overnight. We even stayed in a tent. It was kind of cold, but it was a lot of fun. Here is a couple of pictures from our campsite. It was out on the south west side of Utah Lake. It is so pretty out there.

I was able to go to Chicago for work again. It was a lot of fun. I didn't get a lot of pictures. I kept forgetting my camera in the hotel room. Here are a few pictures I did get.

This is the view from the front of our hotel. The next picture is Jasmine, Kristi and I at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. It was Yummy. I know we have one here in Utah but it is so much better in Chicago.

Race Day

Jake and Andrew decided they wanted to race the Teryx in the Bonneville Off Road Race out in Wendover. They spent months getting everything ready. We loaded up and got out there on Friday morning. (back in September that is) They got everything unloaded and ready for the pre-race. The pre-race is suppose to last a few hours, however about an hour into it Jake and Andrew rolled the Teryx. Emily, Mcky, Austin and I stayed at the trailer, when I looked out the window I said to Emily their back already. She thought I was joking. But nope I wasn't. Jake and Andrew came in and they looked so disappointed. They said they had an accident. Jake was really worried I would be mad. But I wasn't. I was more worried about them being hurt. Thank goodness they were ok. Sadly to say I wouldn't let them race with the Teryx being damaged. But I did make a promise to Jake that the two of them can race next year once everything is fixed. I am so proud of my husband. He has so many projects (I don't know how he keeps them straight) that he found the time to spread the word about this race. I know he is excited for next year. Emily and I spent the rest of the weekend making a witch decoration. Once I get a picture of it I will post it. It turned out so cute. All in all it was a good weekend. We got to watch the rest of the trucks and buggies race. It was a lot of fun. I have posted a few videos and pictures from the race. I hope you all enjoy.

Disneyland Summer Vacation

Jake and I took a week off work to go to St. Anthony Idaho sand dunes for our summer vacation. We were going with some friends when some plans changed and they needed to be back sooner than expected. We decided to bag that trip for some other time and go to Disneyland instead. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Jake driving in Cali. I drove a lot but I made sure to trade him once we got to Cali. I don't like driving in that State. LOL

We stayed at the Super 8 by the park. Not the nicest but it was the cheapest. It wasn't that bad.

This is outside of California Adventures. This park was not as busy as Disneyland. It had a few more adult rides. We went on the screaming roller coaster, Sorrin' California (this one you sore over all of California and they spray different smells as you pass different parts of the state) and my favorite ride there was the Hollywood Hotel Tower of Terror.

Boys trip!

Jake and Austin spent the weekend camping out by Stockton. They went out there for Austin's birthday and also a UTV ride that was going on Saturday. They rode through a place called Jacob's City. I know what you are thinking it's not really Jake's own town, it is a real place. Well it used to be anyway. Now it is an abandoned ghost town. I stayed home this trip. It was just the two of them. Jake even taught Austin how to shoot his gun. They had a lot of fun. The trailer was quite muddy once they got home. Jake was such a wonderful big brother to my little brother. Thanks Jake. :) Here are some cute pictures of them. And also a video of Austin shooting the gun.

Yesterday Emily, Mcky, and I went out to eat and to the movies. We went and ate at the Blue Fish. It was pretty good and that is coming from a girl that hates eating at seafood/sushi restaurants. Then we went over to the District and saw The Proposal. It was such a good movie. I recommend it to anyone. We laughed and laughed. My friend Emily wished there was more passion scenes though.

Emily, Mcky and I had such a blast. She is the cutest little thing there is. She was pretty good in the movie. Emily and I both took a turn getting up with her. Then she was out.

These were taken at Emily's house. Aren't her flowers pretty? Good job Emmz. You can't tell from the pictures that it ended up raining a down pour when we were out and about. I wish this rain would just go away.

Easter Sand Dunes 2009

Jake and I just got home from the sand dunes. It was a lot of fun after we got through a few problems. We left on Weds and once we got to the dunes we got out to see that the awing on the trailer had come un-done and got ripped to shreds. Then we find out that the water is not turned on at the park. (We didn't fill up at home because we always fill up there.) The rangers said we could fill up at the bathroom at the station. Funny thing is we didn't bring a hose. So Jake had to make a hose from his air hose. It took forever to fill our 100 gallon tank. Once we were done with that we got back on the road to Sand Mountain. Once we got there we got out into a sand storm. We had to wait it out in the trailer. Once the storm died done we were able to unload. We had a lot of fun. I didn't take a lot of pictures. Here are a few that I did take. :) We hope that everyone else had a great Easter. The pictures are out of order. Sorry.

Only 4 more days until we are off to the Sand Dunes for a week. We are excited to get away for a little while. I will post pictures of our trip when we get back. Hopefully I wiill get some good ones. We are going to take out the Teryx for the first time. Hopefully it runs ok. I aslo hope the weather shapes up a little bit. See you after Easter. Have a good one. :)

Six-Four Impala

Here is our new OLD 64 Impala. Jake and I have a fun project to do together. We are going to restore this old car. Jake is going to teach me how to do body work. I think it will be fun to work on this together. I will post pictures as we start to restore this car. It needs a lot of work.

Rhino Sold

This past week we sold the Rhino. It was sad. Jake put so much work into it, from new tires and wheels, roll cage, seats, seat belts, and custom paint. We just had to get it sold before the new Rhino's come out or we would have never been able to get our money out of it. We have now upgraded to the T-Rex. I haven't take pictures of that yet. I will post them once I have the pictures. Jake is trying really hard to get the T-Rex ready for our big Easter weekend trip to the dunes. I can't wait.

Can't Sleep

Do you ever have these nights??? I laid in my bed from 12:30 a.m. till 2:30 a.m wide awake. I just laid there listening to Jake snore. Then I started thinking about things I needed to do, and about why I can't sleep. It wasn't about anything important. Just thinking in general. I was getting so frustrated. I just can't sleep. So here I am it is 3:24 a.m. and I'm on the computer blogging that I can't sleep. This sucks!

Valentines Day

I have such a wonderful husband. Jake surprised me with Red Roses for Valentines Day. He bought them the day before and put them in our basement so I wouldn't see them. Then, when I went to bed he brought them upstairs for me to find in the morning. That was so nice of him. He also got me a cute little bear.We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It was packed in there. The wait was two hours, but luckly for us we used the call ahead program. Which made it so we only had to wait for 20 minutes. Then after dinner, Jake took me to see Confessions of a Shopaholic. It was great. Jake even liked it. He said that I was laughing the whole movie. For all of you that have not seen it, you need to.

So Jake thought that it would be a good idea to grow a full blown beard. He was hoping by growing a beard he would get some sort of deal out of it if he were to shave it. This is because I HATE the beard. But I did not cave like I normally do. He grew it for about a month and a half. Here is what it looks like. He loved to puff it out to make it look fuller.

Then, since I wouldn't cave (and I think he was tired of it) he decided he would go to a more extreme look. He decided to shave a handle bar mustache. This was even worse. I was so mad when I got home to see him like this. I told him I would not go out in public with him. He said he would shave it for a leg scratch. I said NO. He went to work the next day and all of the guys loved it. To bad for me. :( This made him want to keep it even more. Here is a couple of pictures.

He looks like he should be in prison or something. Well I finally told him that he needed to shave it and I would scratch his legs. He went and shaved. I was so happy. Little did he know I wasn't going to scratch very good. He was mad at me. All well. The Beard is gone. :)

Starting off the Christmas holiday with the family. We had a packed couple of days. On Christmas eve we went out to Jake's sister Megan's house and had dinner. It was so nice not to have to worry about anything. I forgot my camera so no pictures of his family. =( Sorry! It was just his mom, dad older sister Megan, Jake and I. Jake's younger sister was in Alabama with her husband. Merry Christmas Erin and Craig. We missed you. Then we went home and watched the snow start. Feed the dogs and went to bed. I was up all night with excitment because Jake got me a surprise and I didn't snoop this year. We finally got up at 7 to go over to my mom's. We waited around for Austin to wake up and then at 8 Jake finally went in and woke him up. See picture at the bottom. We opened gifts, the surprise gift for me was a Wii Fit. I loved it. I got Jake some Oakley sunglasses. He was excited about them. Even though he found out a couple of days early because he wanted to order them before Christmas so he spoiled his surprise. I was mad and told him they came in wrong and were red. But they were really black. He he he. Then we had some breakfast. Went home changed then went over to my dad's house. We opened up more gifts at some lunch and came home for a quick break. Then off to my other dad's (Norm) to see the girls open up there gifts. They loved the barbies that we got them. They even liked the clothes too. Then we drove home only to be picked up by my dad to go see my Grandma Ruth at her house. We watched her open gifts. It was nice to see her. Then we finally got home at 6 at we were so tired we just layed down. I can't wait until we have our own kids and don't have to go all over town. My family is so big but I love them. Jake and I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and got everything that you wanted. Sorry this was so long. See below for all of the fun pictures.

Girls Night Out!

A few of the girls and I went out to dinner for Christmas. It was a lot of fun. We went to Mikado's. Jessica made me eat my first ever bite of Sushi. I have to say I was terrified. Those who know me know that I don't like to eat scary things. I wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it was not the best either. Maybe I will try it again next year. North Pole Craft Fair

I know I haven't posted in a while so here we go...

I am starting to put together all my project for my upcoming craft show that I entered. I will post them once they are all done. The craft show is November 28th and 29th at Paradigm High School for those of you that would like to come. You can e-mail me for directions. Hopefully I sell a lot of Vinyl. I am excited to see how it turns out.

Halloween at Maggie was like it is every year. People dress up and eat lots of good food and candy. Here are a couple of pictures.

The weekend before Halloween we went to the Sand Dunes for our final trip of the season. It was fun. We invited our friends Emily, Andrew and Baby McKinly and my little brother Austin went with us as well. We got to test out our new trailer. It was nice having all the extra room and the Heater worked well during the night when it got cold. The days were about 70 so it was nice to not have to wear a coat all day. We will have to start saving for next years trips.

Jake and I bought a 2000 Tahoe Toyhauler this week. We needed something that we could camp in as well as haul all our toys. That means that the old Winnebago is up for sale. Kind of bitter sweet. Anyways, here are some pictures of the new rig. Enjoy!

Raging Waters

Today Jake and I went to Raging Waters. Just the two of us. It was a lot of fun. I didn't take my camera so no cute pics. Jake has been great this weekend. He could tell that I needed to hang out with him. I have been kind of moody lately and he just made my weekend. He says it was a birthday present to me. But, I like to think that he just likes to hang out. What a wonderful hubby I have.

We went and picked up Jake's new (used) truck tonight. He got a 1999 Ford F250. The nice thing about it is it came with nice wheels and tires so we didn't have to buy those for him. He even let me drive it tonight and I felt like I was in a tank. It is so big.

I finally got the car I have been dreaming of for the past two years. On Friday we went and traded in my Scion and bought an Altima. I am so excited. It has everything I wanted in it. Jake also sold his truck and we will be getting him something as well one day. Hopefull soon.

New Hair Cut

We went boating over the fourth of July at Utah lake. It was a lot of fun. We went with our friends Chase, Cole, Chris and my sister-in-law Megan. I even tried to wake board for the first time. I got up after about 5 fall and was up to about 30 seconds. The water was really choppy. But I had fun trying. I can't wait to go again.

Pit Bike Fun

On Saturday, we went over to our friends house to say goodbye to Chase and Holly. They are moving to Arizona for Chase to go to Dental school. Jake took his pit bike over for the guys to have fun in the back yard.

Thursday night after I got off work I decided I better go support Jake at his Hockey game. I normally don't go to them because they normally start close to 10:00 which is pretty late with having to go to work the next day. This time it started at 6:30 so I decided to go. Here is a video I took at the game. Jake is number 29. His team is the Reapers. Is was a lot of fun to go and watch him. Jake plays defense so he pretty much stays close to the goalie. Unfortunatly they lost 4 to 1. Better luck next time. Jake's team is in third place.

This is Jake hitting his famous slap shot. He hit the goalie right in the head. The goalie laughed about it beacause he just bought a new helmet and Jake put a dent in the front of it.

Vegas

My friends and I went to Vegas for the weekend. It was a blast. We drove done Friday after work. Hilary and I spent the day at the pool on Saturday while her sisters and her sister's boss went to the hair convention. Then we all met up to go to dinner. We ate at some Asian restaurant. It was ok. Then we went to the Wynn Hotel to go to club Tryst. It was so crowed. We happen to get in for free since Tonya knew the bouncer. Which saved us a lot of money. Then we headed back to our hotel to do some gambling. Hilary tried to teach me how to play the card tables. I must have been tired. I couldn't understand any of the games. So I went over to the black jack table and tested my luck there. I won about $200.00 dollars. Tiffany won $500.00 on the roulette table. All in all it was a lot of fun. Can't wait to go again.

Vegas

Hilary and I went to Hard Rock Hotel to lay out at the pool. It was a lot of fun. It was so crowed. The music was turned up and the sun was blazing.

If you have money you can purchase a bed to lay on for $500.00 bucks. Unfortunatly we just stayed with the free lawn chairs.

Adam's Family Reunion 2008

On June 14, 2008 we loaded up the car and went to Logan, Utah for our family reunion. We have not had a family reunion on this side of the family since 1988. 20 years ago! That is a long time to wait for such an occasion. We had it at our family park. The Adam's park. It was a lot of fun. Most of the people there I had no idea who they were. This past weekend we went out to the Knoll's for Austin's birthday. He just turned 10. I can still remember when he was a baby. We had a lot of fun out there. It was sooo hot!!! We were trying to find shade anywhere. There was no trees out there. Just like a desert. We decided to come home on Saturday a day early because we were so hot. This will be our last trip till fall. Hopefully by then we will have our new trailer and get rid of the Winbag. Anyways Happy Birthday Austin!!!

After living in my house for four years I decided to finally do something with my yard. I spent the whole weekend pulling weeds, laying felt down and planting flowers. I am so proud of my yard. We took my little brother to the Sand Dunes over Jake's birthday. Austin has never ridden a four wheeler by himself before. Our friends took one of their four wheelers for him to ride. It was the best thing he has ever done. He would not even take off his helmet. He was on cloud nine. From dawn to dusk he was making laps. Here are a few pictures of the excitement. The first is a thumbs up. (ready to rock and roll) The second picture is his daring ride in our friends custom sand car. (Colliers Customs) They took Austin up sand mountain. What a blast. The third picture what is he drinking??? Whew just root beer. And last but not lest. Austin made a friend. Zane. They had a lot of fun together.

This is Lil' Bogey and Lil' Diesel. Bogey is the white one and Diesel is the black one. They are our kids for now. We love them. They love to get treats. As you can see they are being good for the picture. Bogey just turned three and weighs in at 100.4 lbs. Diesel just turned one and weighs in at 75 lbs. They are both German Shepards. We think that Diesel has a little bit of Lab in him, but who knows. These are Grandpa Nielsen's favorite grandkids. (considering its all he has) haha. They sure like to protect me when Jake is out of town. They are fun to have. For a cat lover turned dog lover. =)
